Info for volunteers

Thank you for considering volunteering! What will it be like to work with a group of people I have never interacted with before? is a question we often hear. Here is one volunteer’s feedback: “You will have a transformative experience. By engaging with the guests through sharing a meal and hearing their stories, misconceptions of who the unsheltered are break down. It is realized that we are all part of the community – regardless of housing status. I never realized how similar we all are!”

You don’t have to have a specific, or any faith belief to volunteer. ALL are welcome!

Visit our Collaborative group signup.com page for the current volunteer needs from our communities offering shelter: https://signup.com/group/816326628090

Please also consider helping us run the daily operations of the Collaborative with “behind the scenes work”. Typical needs include: Database management, social media, event planning, grant writing, fundraising. (We are completely volunteer run and funded so very much need this kind of help!) Please email us at winterfaithcollaborative@gmail.com if you are able to help us in this capacity.

You are invited to attend our regular Collaborative meetings. Important outreach groups are currently forming!

It takes funding to keep the shelters running so please consider a monetary donation: http://tinyurl.com/donate2wfc. (All funds go directly to helping those in need.) We also welcome checks. Please make out to: Willow Glen United Methodist (in memo line be sure to indicate the donation is for the Winter Faith Collaborative) Mail checks to the attention of Ingrid Quigley to: Willow Glen United Methodist Church. 1420 Newport Ave. San Jose, CA 95125.
